Haiti Relief Efforts
The past two weeks (January 18-29, 2010), the Lambda Lambda Chapter has been raising money for Haiti Relief by boothing out on Ring Road and in the Student Center at UCI accepting donations and selling Haiti bracelets to promote awareness. All proceeds are being donated to Food for the Hungry and Partners in Health, both of which are prominent non-profit organizations who have been in Haiti for years prior to the earthquake providing aid. After the two weeks of boothing, we raised $1200 to send to the organizations.
Our efforts on campus to raise money for Haiti have also been published along with other similar efforts by New University, the UCI campus newsletter:

Chapter President Walter Rodriguez was also interviewed by KUCI, the campus radio station.
On January 30, we co-sponsored Flex Your Muscles for Haiti, which was an arm wrestling tournament that also donated all proceeds to Partners in Health. $3000 were raised, which will be doubled by a third-party organization.
The total amount of money raised amounts to $7200.
Thanks to all who came out to the events to support Haiti Relief efforts.
Update: Our efforts also received notice on ABC 7.
